Are you currently a mechanic working on cars, machines, or equipment in construction or industry? Have you just graduated from school and want to know what “craftsmanship” really means? Or are you just looking for something different from what you’re doing now? At Vitters Shipyard, there’s no assembly line, no anonymous factory floor, and no repeating the same part a thousand times—you’ll work with a small, close-knit team on a single yacht that you’ll pour your heart into for months, until the project is complete. This isn’t a “run-of-the-mill” mechanic job.
Your Role as an All-Around Mechanic
Installation and Assembly
You install and assemble technical systems on board: from piping systems to all kinds of other components that, together, keep a yacht running. You work according to blueprints and specifications, and you take the initiative to point out when something needs to be done differently.
Versatile, no two days are the same
One moment you’re installing a piping system, and the next you’re working on a completely different component. No two yachts are alike—and that’s what makes this job so versatile.

What You Bring to the Table as an All-Around Mechanic
Are you coming from a completely different industry and don’t have any experience in yacht building? No problem—with the right technical foundation and the right attitude, we’ll teach you the rest.
As an All-Around Technician, you’ll step in wherever needed. You work meticulously, quickly spot when something isn’t right, and take the initiative. You don’t wait around—you seek out collaboration with your coworkers on the shop floor. You have strong communication skills and are approachable.
