About Us

Vitters Shipyard is a leading family-owned company specializing in the construction of luxury sailing yachts ranging from approximately 40 meters to approximately 80 meters. With a rich tradition and passion for craftsmanship, we deliver custom-built yachts of the highest quality, with a focus on customer satisfaction, innovation, and sustainability. Our team of passionate professionals works on unique projects every day, striving for perfection in every detail. To support our team of professionals, we are looking for a Project Manager with a proactive attitude.

Your Role

As a project manager, you’re the linchpin of the construction process from start to completion, and you’re in charge of all parties involved, including clients, architects, subcontractors, and your own staff. You ensure that information reaches the right people and that deadlines are met. You coordinate the work with clients, colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers. You keep everyone on the same page and effortlessly adapt your communication style.
You are responsible for quality, scheduling, and the budget for the construction process, and you prepare reports for the client.
You’ll be involved in all aspects of yacht building—installation engineering, mechanical systems, propulsion, aluminum hull construction, interiors, electrical systems, and sail systems—and, together with the project team, you’ll ensure that everything fits together seamlessly.
You will lead and inspire your project team and ensure the right conditions are in place to successfully complete projects.
You use your coaching and mentoring skills to foster collaboration and teamwork.
You adapt quickly and know how to effectively apply new developments.
You will ensure the integration of knowledge and experience within project teams and contribute to the professional development of your colleagues.
You are familiar with various drafting programs, such as AutoCAD, and can read technical drawings.

What are we looking for?

A degree from a university of applied sciences or a research university in a technical field.
Experience in shipbuilding or yacht building.
The ability to work in a systematic and organized manner.
Excellent command of Dutch and English.
An interest in sailing.

Who are you?

You have a strong sense of responsibility and excel at working in a process-oriented manner.
You have strong analytical skills, are results-oriented, and are good at assessing risks.
You think on your feet and guide the process from start to finish to a successful conclusion.
You are flexible in your communication style and are a good listener; you know how to ask follow-up questions and read between the lines.
You are empathetic and have a good sense of when to make decisive decisions and when to give people space.

What do we offer?

A dynamic and energetic work environment in a fantastic and unique industry.
Opportunities for initiative and self-development, with plenty of training and development opportunities.
You think on your feet and guide the process from start to finish to a successful conclusion.
Excellent primary and secondary benefits, including a customized salary structure.
