Not exactly what you were looking for?
What exactly will you be doing?
At Vitters, work is underway simultaneously on the construction of two to three unique, luxury sailing yachts. Each project has its own production team and takes place in a separate hall. As Production Manager, you are responsible for the day-to-day management of one of these projects. You ensure that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to schedule. You report to management.
You serve as the linchpin between project management, engineering, foremen, and specialized subcontractors. In this role, you ensure that people, materials, information, and scheduling come together at the right time. Thanks to your oversight and guidance, the project stays on track and bottlenecks are resolved in a timely manner.

Day-to-day management of production
You are responsible for the progress of a single project. In this role, you do not directly supervise the staff carrying out the work, but rather organize and facilitate management through the foremen. You ensure that work is prepared in a timely manner, that the right people are available, and that everyone involved has the information they need to perform their work effectively.
The complexity of the role lies in the diversity of disciplines that are active on board at the same time. At various stages of the project, employees and specialists work on areas such as the hull, engine room, electrical systems, deck, and interior. All of these activities influence one another and require constant coordination.
You maintain an overview, set priorities, and ensure that tasks flow smoothly from one to the next. In doing so, you’re always looking ahead. You identify potential bottlenecks before they arise and ensure that materials, capacity, information, and work planning align with the next phase of the project.
By clearly communicating responsibilities, honoring agreements, and involving the right people at the right time, you create calm and structure within a complex production environment.
In addition, you will ensure that the hall remains orderly and tidy, and you will monitor compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project agreements.

Collaboration
To successfully complete projects, you’ll work closely with project managers, engineers, foremen, and subcontractors. You’ll coordinate on progress, technical issues, changes, and the work schedule.
You maintain a visible presence on the job site and stay informed about what’s happening within the project. Thanks to your communication skills, all disciplines involved remain well-coordinated, and problems are identified and resolved early on.
The ultimate goal is clear: to ensure that a unique sailing yacht is built according to schedule, in accordance with Vitters’ quality standards, and with a focus on safety.

Job Requirements:
Personal Characteristics
You are someone who brings calm and clarity to an environment where many different tasks take place simultaneously every day. You maintain a visible presence on the work floor, take responsibility, and know how to naturally get people on board.
You communicate easily with foremen, project managers, engineers, and subcontractors. You move seamlessly between different disciplines and ensure that agreements, expectations, and priorities are clear.
In addition, you have sufficient technical insight to understand the impact of decisions and changes. You don’t have to be the expert yourself, but you do understand how different disciplines within a project interact with one another.
You think in terms of processes and structures, maintain an overview, and look ahead. You identify potential issues before they arise, anticipate the next phase of the project, and ensure that tasks continue to flow smoothly from one to the next.
Finally, you’re someone who thinks ahead. You assess the consequences of decisions, identify risks before they become problems, and anticipate developments within the project in a timely manner. It is precisely this approach that allows you to create stability, continuity, and predictability in a complex production environment.
