Not exactly what you were looking for?

What exactly will you be doing?

Do you want to take safety and environmental standards to the next level in an innovative work environment? Do you know how to translate laws and regulations into practical improvements on the job site? Then the position of Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator is the right fit for you!

You’ll be joining a dynamic environment where impressive projects are brought to life with passion and expertise in a niche market. There, amid the hustle and bustle of the day, you’ll ensure that processes comply with legal requirements and meet the high standards that clients expect.

You’ll work closely with your colleagues in the facilities department, who ensure that the machines, equipment, and production resources are maintained, inspected, and certified. You’ll also spend a lot of time on the production floor and maintain close contact with the production managers. Within the organization, you’ll report to the operations manager.

RI&E

The RI&E is in good order. You monitor its implementation and keep it up to date. In doing so, you identify risks and opportunities and develop an action plan to mitigate them. You also draw up VGWM plans. You are familiar with the relevant current laws and regulations and ensure compliance with them.

In addition, you’ll organize toolbox meetings and draft safety instructions. During external audits, you’ll serve as the point of contact for the auditing agencies.

You are the point of contact for all employees and contractors regarding safety and the environment, and you document related matters to ensure compliance with legal (environmental) requirements. You also oversee the proper use of PPE.

You are visible on the job site and promote awareness and a proactive attitude toward safety and the environment.

Improvement Plans

You proactively propose improvements and, once approved, take the initiative to implement them yourself. In doing so, you always ensure that improvement plans are practical and aligned with day-to-day operations.

You play an executive role, as well as an advisory and supportive one, and make a significant contribution to raising awareness and building support for Occupational Health, Safety, and the Environment within the organization.

Your Profile

A completed relevant degree and a higher vocational education (HBO) level of work and thinking;
Experience in a similar position, preferably in the maritime or manufacturing industry;
You are familiar with current laws and regulations regarding occupational health and safety and the environment;
Zwartsluis is easily accessible for you.
You are available for 16–24 hours per week. Workdays and hours can be arranged flexibly by mutual agreement.

Personal Characteristics

You are a proactive professional who identifies opportunities for improvement and translates them into concrete actions. In doing so, you know how to strike a balance between laws and regulations, day-to-day operations, and the organization’s interests.

With your practical approach, you seek solutions that are feasible for the people on the shop floor. You are regularly present in the production halls, connect easily with colleagues, and know how to build support for improvements in the areas of occupational health and safety and the environment.

In addition, you work with precision and in a structured manner. You maintain an overview of processes, documentation, audits, and action plans, and ensure that agreements are fulfilled. Thanks to your ability to see both the people and the organization, you recognize risks as well as opportunities and know how to reconcile different interests.

You are solution-oriented, a strong communicator, and confident in raising your colleagues’ awareness of safe and responsible work practices in a positive way. In doing so, you make an important contribution to a safe work environment and to further professional development.
