Job Description
A position has opened up on the Engineering team at Vitters Shipyard for an Aluminum Structures Engineer (38 hours per week) in our aluminum hull construction department.
What exactly will you be doing?
The aluminum hull and superstructure—the hull itself—is a crucial component and forms the foundation of a sailing yacht. The aluminum construction is a technical masterpiece in which strength, stiffness, and weight are the key parameters.
As an Aluminum Structures Engineer, you will work as part of the project team alongside a project leader, an engineering project manager, and engineers from various disciplines, such as electrical engineering, systems engineering, and sail systems engineering.
You are responsible for developing the drawings and information received from the architect into actionable information, and you are involved from the very beginning through to the delivery of the hull. The structural integration of equipment and technical systems into our custom-built superyachts is a key part of the job. The position requires a broad and practical technical foundation, combined with the ability to coordinate information with the production team to ensure a complete construction package.
